The Grand Flat Tour

Dan and I had barely moved into the new flat before we were whisking ourselves off to the states for our event of the year, now that we’re back in the UK and with a few days off (and with some new wedding gifts), we’ve finally been able to settle in and start making our new place a home.  So here is your exclusive VIP tour of the new flat!

This is an aspect of the flat that we have gotten a lot of comments on and truth be told it is quite strange and perplexing.  For this photo I am standing at the top of the stairs of the entryway into our 2nd floor flat, directly across from me is a tiny patch of carpet that only Spiderman would be able to hoover.

Next up is the kitchen!  I love pretty much everything about this kitchen, the breakfast bar, seperate grill/oven, the huge amount of counter space, the cupboard front fridge/freezer.  The only downside is that the dark wood counter top shows every little thing which just means more frequent washing up  for Dan.

Just another view, washing machine, microwave, standard kitchen equipment.

Colleen and Paul got us the hugging salt and pepper shakers for Christmas, I love them.  Also, Dan really wanted a mortar and pestle so we ended up getting one, now we have to think of uses for it, haha.

This is the view of our back garden through the kitchen window.  Hopefully the sunny weather will keep up and we will be able to get some use out of it before winter.

Our bedroom, we did get downgraded from a kingsize bed to a double, but it makes up for it in comfiness.

Another view of the room, it’s really hard to get good shots inside a flat.

The living room, those his and her’s couches are going to go at some point.  They are not conducive for cuddling in front of the tv.

The mantle, still working on this area, but it has great potential.  The black and white photos are from our guest book table from the wedding celebration 🙂

The most uncomfortable couches ever.

It’s nice having an actual table to be able to sit and eat dinner at.  We didn’t really have one in the old flat, well, we did, but it was under the stair case and usually covered with everyone’s laundry.

Our guest/storage/laundry/computer room.

Come visit and you can sleep here!

The bathroom, obviously.

And my absolute favorite thing about the entire flat.

And that concludes your tour! 🙂

Lovely!!! Do see what you mean about the sofas though 😦 xx

  2. I have the same weird carpet thing in my house!! Between the first and second floors. Needless to say it never gets cleaned… Your place looks so nice! Hope I get to stay in the guest room someday!

You’re so lucky! It’s so cute. I love your kitchen, too. And am totally jealous that you have a yard! Don’t you use a mortar and pestle to muddle mint or strawberries for mojitos? Or dried things for incense or potpurri (sp?)? Or sometimes garlic if you don’t have a smusher? (I could be totally wrong, these are what I thought a mortar and pestle are for, but I’ve never actually used one)

I miss you so much! I’m glad everything is going so well for you!

Hmm, mojitos, now that sounds like a good idea. I know you can use them to make spice rubs too, like crushed black peppercorns for on steak. I miss you too! I am working on my wedding e-mail for you still, it is coming, just slowly ❤

    Hi,
Your flat is really neat and with a nice garden area to boot! I see you found a place for
    your new towel.
    Love,
    Grandma

      Hi Grandma,
Yes, we have both our USA dish towels hanging up, I have to make sure the states is represented 🙂
