So Happy Christmas

One of my new favorite Christmas tunes, check it out 🙂

Dan and I did our Christmas decorating today (although I had been pestering him about it since December 1st, I can’t help it, I have too much holiday spirit).  Our poor tree looks sadder this year than it did in the other flat last year.

But our mantle looks quite nice this year, which I am pleased with.

Even our sad little Ikea orchid is getting into the Christmas spirit (look at the beautiful English weather out the window, hehe).

I made chocolate truffles last night, which turned out quite successfully.  I made 3 different kinds, orange flavored rolled in cocoa powder, vanilla flavored rolled in walnuts, and some with a milk chocolate shell.

The truffle part is easy enough to make, but boy, are they a pain in the butt to roll.

Some exciting news, Dan and I decided instead of getting gifts for each other this year, we are going to see Derren Brown live.  If you are in the states and don’t know who Derren Brown is, he is a hypnotist/illusionist/mentalist (not a MAGICIAN!).  Dan and I have watched all his tv series and shows and he is amazing.  The show is in March and I can’t wait (Dan and I have a very exciting New Year, Barbados, Derren Brown, my parents coming to visit).

And that’s about all for now, hope everyone is having a happy Christmas season.  I am missing the snow, though I’m sure you don’t feel the same back home.  Fingers crossed for a white Christmas here anyway 🙂

    Hi Mandy & Dan,
Your truffles look delicious! Grandpa says he wants some-haha! I made over 200 cookies
Friday-sugar cookies, peanut blossoms, raspberry ribbons and 2 batches of peanut brittle.
They are going fast, needed them for Sr. lunch at church, my Mission Belle Xmas party,
ladies card club here last night and couples card clulb here Sat. nite. Besides Grandpa
has his hand in the cookies every little while! We have NO Snow and it looks like we will have a brown Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas!! Everyone will be here for Christmas except you
and Dan, Joe & Alison (they are going to her family), Tony & Myra (they are going to W.
Virginia). Andrew will be home from Alaska. We love you and miss you. I sent you a card
by snail mail – maybe you’ll get it by Christmas
    Grandma & Grandpa.

      Hi Grandma and Grandpa!
Dan and I got your Christmas card today, thank you! There is one on the way from us, but who knows when it will get to you? That is a lot of cookies Grandma, I wanted to make some peanut butter blossoms, but I am running out of time now! We definitely don’t have any snow here, just a lot of rain. Merry Christmas to you too! We will be missing you and thinking of you on Christmas!

      Love,
      Mandy and Dan
