Diamond Jubilee Weekend

Just a quick little update type post while Dan and I are enjoying a nice long weekend in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee!  We are currently watching the flotilla slowly make its way down the Thames.  And although I am an American transplant, its easy enough to fall into the spirit of celebration, I think there’s something very captivating/intriguing about royalty (especially to us Americans) and I always look forward to a glimpse of Will and Kate 🙂

But I am sure the Jubilee is getting plenty of media coverage in the states as well, so what else have Dan and I been up to?  Had a nice little double dinner date and a movie with Jon and Ashley yesterday.  Headed to a firm favorite, TGIFriday’s before seeing The Dictator.

And today, Dan and I got up bright and early to head down to the beach in semi miserable weather so Dan could try out his new kite surfing equipment.

This was about a week ago, just testing the new kite out in a field.

And out on the sea!  It was nice to be on the beach for a few hours today even if the weather was a bit crap.  There were so many kite surfers out, miserable English weather is just what you need for good kite surfing conditions so Dan picked a good sport to take up.  I did come away with a nice case of windburn and about million more freckles.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!  Love and miss you! x
